The job of a Mom is never done!

I see all of these Mom's who can do everything, and I think,  I should have them do some stuff for me! haha

Mother’s of Children With Disabilities

Most women become mothers by accident, some by choice, a few by social pressures and a couple by habit.
This year, nearly one hundred thousand women will become mothers of handicapped children. Did you ever wonder how these mothers of handicapped children are chosen?
Somehow visualize God hovering over Earth selecting His instruments for propagation with great care and deliberation. As He observes, He instructs his angels to make notes in a giant ledger.
"Armstrong, Beth ... Son"
"Patron Saint ... Matthew"
"Forest, Marjorie ... Daughter"
"Patron Saint ... Cecelia"
"Rudledge, Carrie ... Twins"
"Patron Saint ... Give her Gerard."
"He's used to profanity."
Finally, he passes a name to an angel and smiles.
"Give her a blind child."
The angel is curious.
"Why this one, God? She's so happy."
"Exactly," says God. "Could I give a child with a handicap to a mother who does not know laughter? That would be cruel."
"But has she patience?" asks the angel.
"I don't want her to have too much patience, or she will drown in a sea of self-pity and despair. Once the shock and resentment wear off, she'll handle it."
"But, Lord, I don't think she even believes in you."
God smiles. No matter. I can fix that. This one is perfect. She has just enough selfishness."
The angel gasps. "Selfishness? Is that a virtue?"
God nods. "If she can't separate herself from the child occasionally, she'll never survive. Yes, here is a woman whom I will bless with a child less than perfect. She doesn't realize it yet, but she is to be envied. She will never take for granted a spoken word. She will never consider a step ordinary. When her child says 'Momma' for the first time, she will be present at a miracle and know it! When she describes a tree or a sunset to her blind child, she will see it as few people ever see my creations."
"I will permit her to see clearly the things I see ... ignorance, cruelty, prejudice ... and allow her to rise above them. She will never be alone. I will be at her side every minute of every day of her life, because she is doing my work as surely as she is here by my side."
"And what about her patron saint?" asks the angel, pen poised in midair.
God smiles. "A mirror will suffice."

Another Job Interview

I went for a second job interview today @ 21st Mortgage in Knoxville. The interview lasted over an hour and I feel really good about it. :) I was told I should hear something by the end of the week. I still haven't heard anything back from Quick Loans and ORNL.

The Cup

Got the Monday BLAHS? A cupcake will cheer you right up!
I went to The Cup at Turkey Creek in Knoxville! I think I could gain 10 pounds just walking in the door and smelling that lovely aroma. :)

My latest Crochet Project

One of my finished projects

I have to admit I am really enjoying learning how to Crochet. It is difficult for me to start out a pattern correctly. Thanks to Sandy at The Yarn Haven for always being so nice and helpful! I can't wait to sign up for another Crochet class! :)

Happy Birthday Leah

With help I made this for my niece, Leah. I hope she likes it! :)

I can't stand it when my babies are sick

My little Celie is sick. She was up all night with an ear ache. She finally fell asleep around 5:30am. I took her to the doctor and she has "Swimmers Ear". :(

Don't crochet while watching tv

I was watching TV and got a little off track. I didn't realize I had went all the way around. My dishcloth looks more like a small rug. haha I will try to fix it at my next class. :)

How to Crochet - Part 1 - Basics for the Absolute Beginner

Crochet Class

I did struggle somewhat today. I felt like a dummy doing it on my own, but I did make some progress. When I got home I went into the other room and was gone for maybe 10 minutes. Came back in the living room and my son let the dogs in and they had unraveled everything I had done! :( There is no way I will have this completed by the end of my next class now. I'm in tears!

Job Interview!

I just got the call! I have a job interview next week! I'm saying a prayer that this maybe where God wants me to be. The hours and days would be perfect for me and my family.

Kids Cartoons

What is up with the cartoons these days?? I miss Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny, Flintstones, The Smurfs, The Jetsons, Popeye....to name a few. I am thankful for the Boomerang channel. I turned it on and the Flintstones were on and my 11 year old son says "what is this" and with a look of shock, I replied "this is the Flintstones. Have you never seen the Flintstones?!?" My son watches it for a minute and says " Oh this cartoon is from the Cocoa Pebbles cereal". I think I just died inside!!!!!!!!!!!    Yabba Dabba Doo!!!!

Chocolate Chip Pancakes

Schools were closed today for the 4th day in a row, so when the kids finally woke up from staying up all night playing the Wii, we made chocolate chip pancakes together. My hubby is working a double shift at the station. I wish he could be here, but that is all apart of the job.

Its Snowing!!!

I think this is the most snow my kids have ever seen. They are so excited! I love it!!!
I believe we have over 5 inches of snow in some places. I know to others that might not seem like a lot, but we live in East TN and we are stuck in the valley and we hardly ever get much of anything.

Cheer Competition Jan 2011

Lenoir City Jets, Young Champions level three went to Nashville but unfortunately didn't place. I feel that these girls ROCKED the place and did an awesome job! We are so proud of their hard work and we so appreciate all the hard work their coach Kayla did with the girls. GO JETS!!!

Young Champions going to State

I'm getting my girls ready for the State Regionals! I'm so nervous for them and I'm so very proud of them!
